Why Use These Ingredients?
Emu: This is a great carrier for CBD because the fatty acid profile in emu fat is nearly identical to your skin cell’s profile. It helps to heal adverse skin conditions better than any plant-based product. It outperforms Aloe Vera or lavender oil when applied to burns. It is usually more effective than conventional medications such as cortisone at reducing inflammation and related pain. The fatty acids in emu oil (Omega 3 and Omega 6) increase the production of hormone-like substances called eicosanoids in our bodies to help heal skin and reduce inflammation. As it penetrates through all 7 layers of skin, the fatty acids cause an anti-inflammatory effect. It actually reaches deeply into the joints or muscles to relieve pain associated with this inflammation. Emus are ethically harvested for the meat and in order to not waste, the oil is collected from the skin and refined for use in health care products because of its great benefits.
Avocado butter: Avocado oil is the natural oil pressed from the pulp of an avocado. Almost 70% of avocado oil consists of heart-healthy oleic acid, a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. This fatty acid is also the main component of olive oil, and believed to be partly responsible for its health benefits. Additionally, around 12% of avocado oil is saturated fat and about 13% is polyunsaturated fat. While avocado oil has a high omega-6 to omega-3 ratio, this shouldn’t be of concern as the total amount of omega-6 is relatively low. This oil is cold-pressed from fruit.
Almond butter: This contains vitamin E, which helps to keep your skin cells healthy, protects your skin from UV radiation damage, and helps your skin look smooth, soft, and free of fine lines. The fatty acids help your skin retain moisture and can heal chapped and irritated skin. Plus, vitamin A can help reduce acne. This oil is cold-pressed from almonds.
Capsaicin: Capsaicin has potent pain-relieving properties when applied to the skin in a cream. This is because capsaicin helps reduce the amount of substance P, a neuropeptide produced by the body that travels to the brain to signal pain. It also helps to increase circulation by increasing vasodilation. Kat’s uses olive oil to carry it because it is a fairly neutral, well-absorbed oil full of good fatty acid profile. This is CO2 extracted from the fruit.
Ginger essential oil: This oil can be used as a topical solution as it may provide significant antioxidant protection, hence preventing skin inflammations. It also creates heat that aids in circulation issues and increases blood flow. It contains α-zingiberene, beta-sesquiphellandrene terpenes.
Black pepper: This essential oil is warming and aids in circulation. Contains β-caryophyllene, limonene, sabinene, α-pinene, ß-Pinene, δ-3-carene terpenes. This is steam-distilled from fruit.
Marjoram: This loosens muscles and works deep relieving inflammation and pain in the muscles. Works well pre- or post-workout. It contains Terpinen-4-ol, trans-sabinene hydrate, γ-terpinene. Extraction Method: steam distilled from aerial parts.
Juniper: This works as a natural cleanser and detoxifier to muscles and joints and aids in toning the skin. It contains α-pinene, sabinene terpenes. This is steam-distilled from berries.
Rosemary: Has a regulatory effect on the circulatory system and aids in the regulation of blood pressure in the area. This helps with varicose veins and joint flexibility. It contains 1, 8-Cineole, α-pinene, camphor terpenes. This oil is steam-distilled from aerial parts.
Massage the desired amount where needed, focusing on inflamed areas. Repeat use every 2 to 4 hours or as directed by a healthcare professional. For maximum relief, use over extended periods of time. Wash your hands with soap after using unless your hands are part of the treated area. Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas. This product can be used on broken skin.
There is no official recommended serving for CBD. The information on this page is intended to serve as a good starting point only and should not be considered medical advice.
The variables on finding a universally prescribed serving of CBD are almost infinite – weight, diet, metabolism, genetics, environment, and more all affect the perfect serving for you.
Start with the lowest possible serving. Some conditions benefit from low serving size, some benefit from high serving size, and some benefit the most from somewhere in the middle. Slowly working your way up is the best way to find the proper serving size for you.
If you feel you can benefit from a higher serving size of CBD, research suggests increasing your serving every 3-4 weeks to fully process how your current serving size is affecting you.
We also recommend keeping notes on how your CBD serving size affects you – this practice will help you remember accurately which serving size helped you feel your best.
