Direct CBD Online is back with this month’s CBD news roundup! See how CBD can benefit you in sports, beauty products, mental health, and more!
Unilever’s Schmidt’s Naturals to launch hemp-oil deodorants in September
“Anglo-Dutch consumer goods giant Unilever PLC will be taking its first step into the U.S. hemp market in September, when its subsidiary brand Schmidt’s Naturals launches a line of hemp-oil deodorants that will be available at certain retailers.
That line will later in the fall by a separate range of CBD products, according to Schmidt’s Naturals CEO Michael Cammarata.”
As you already know, hemp is useful for a wide variety of products and uses – not only CBD! Hemp oil is an excellent moisturizer that does not clog pores. It’s used in many beauty products and will be a great, non-irritating ingredient in deodorant!
The real truth about CBD and how it can affect your golf game
“Since the World Anti-Doping Agency removed CBD from its banned substance list in 2018, the PGA Tour Anti-Doping organization does not list CBD as a prohibited substance for players. Its focus instead is on the illegality of THC.”
Phil Mickelson may have been taking CBD oil at the Masters! As many golf fans know, Mickelson lives with psoriatic arthritis. So CBD is likely an excellent treatment option for him. And, so long as it contains no THC, the rules of the World Anti-Doping Agency allow CBD.
We already know that CBD can be great for athletes‘ recovery and energy. It’s great to see the variety of athletes using CBD!
50% of millennials would pick CBD oil over prescriptions for mental health
“Eos Scientific’s research has revealed that 15 million Brits are concerned about seeking prescription medication for their mental health, worried that the medication may be either too strong, have negative side-effects or too general for their symptoms.”
A lot of stigmas, unfortunately, continue to surround mental health treatment. And the results of those stigmas are significant. In this study, 30% of surveyed adults in the UK are “wary of approaching a doctor about their mental health.” A large part of that wariness comes from not wanting to be over-prescribed medication or fearing the side effects.
As studies continue to show that CBD can be beneficial for mental health, it’s understandable why people would use it. While we support the use of CBD as a treatment, it’s important to still talk to your doctor about CBD.
We hope that stigmas over both mental health and CBD continue to dissipate in the coming years!
Ben & Jerry’s Backs Cannabis Record Expungement Program for 420
“Knowing that Caliva is challenging the status quo of bogarting human rights of non-violent offenders — and providing these communities a second chance — is exactly the 420 effort we want to support,’ said Ben & Jerry’s Marketing Manager Justin Gural. We want to have some fun with fans on the holiday with the delivery surprises, and supporting Clear My Record is no doubt the cherry on top.
Apparently, this isn’t the first time Ben & Jerry’s have stood up for cannabis reform! But this year, the brand teamed up with cannabis company Caliva to raise money and awareness for law reform.
